Why did you join BNI, what benefit impressed you when you decided to join BNI?

To be referred to potential clients is the reason why I joined BNI. I was impressed by the supportive attitude of fellow members in referring potential business to each other in a mutually beneficial relationship

Of the top 2 cases, what was the approximate value of each of them.?

Case 1:RM300M and Case 2:RM200M

After 5 years in BNI will you continue to stay in BNI?

As long as there is the potential for new business to be introduced to me by my fellow members or their business contacts, I can see the potential for me to acquire new clients and therefore will continue to grow by client base and my business.

What is one positive comment or encouragement that you like to say to members?

If initially you do not get any referrals, don’t give up. It could be that you are not asking for the right referrals or you are not asking the right way.

Another reason could be that your fellow BNI members do not know enough about your business or trust you enough to introduce you to their best business contacts.

All this takes time and some hard work.

It is NOT given that fellow BNI members must introduce their best business contacts to you. You have to win their friendship and trust, especially in the “difficult to refer” business like ours.

How has BNI changed your business or your personal development, if any?

In the early years of our firm, the only way we knew how to get new business was by referrals from our original clients who were pleased with the projects we had completed for them. However many of the clients who were happy with our work did not take any effort to refer us to other clients. Therefore had to find other ways to get new business. This is where I saw the potential in BNI’s way of getting new business by referral. I have attended almost every new seminar and workshop BNI has run since joining and every one of them has taught me something about running my business better.

BNI is the Business school of hard knocks. You get to see many business people come and go, succeed and fail. You can learn from them.


Transacted: RM1.000,000 through Power Team in 4 months

When members of Uptown chapter, attended their chapter Team Building in December, most just want to have some fun. 5 members, got a lot more than just fun , when they found themselves having a natural chemistry between them.

The 5 also discovered they are in industries that are interdependent, targeting the same target markets and share the same contact sphere.

On returning from the weekend, they were proactive, in putting ideas to work

Within my first few months of joining BNI the referrals easily attributed close to RM250,000 worth of business, which is way beyond my expectations. One of my partners, Gerald Kong, dealing in software solution has closed a WORLD RECORD deal worth RM7,200,000.00.
